Digitalization and Its Influence on Employee Engagement and Job Satisfaction: A Study with Special Reference to Ranchi

Digitalization is need of the hour in retail stores. Customers, today, prefer shopping from stores which are technologically updated. Purpose: This study was conducted in retail stores of Ranchi to ascertain if digital technology is being used and the impact of digital technology on engagement and satisfaction level of employees. Methodology: Primary data is collected for this research and correlation, statistical tool, has been used to study the relationship between implementation of digital technology and its influence on employee engagement as well as satisfaction level. Findings: The study indicates that majority of retail stores use digital technologies in their operations and this use of technology has a very limited impact on employee’s engagement and satisfaction level. Originality and value: This study tries to address a topic on which a very limited study has been done in Ranchi.
