Abstract

In this paper, we present a novel approach to solving transportation problems, termed the Least Demand Least Cost Method (LDLCM). This method prioritizes allocation based on the least demand and least cost, offering an alternative to traditional methods such as the Northwest Corner Method (NWCM), Least Cost Entry Method (LCEM), and Vogel's Approximation Method (VAM). We evaluate the performance of LDLCM by comparing its results with the most effective traditional method, VAM. Our analysis demonstrates the potential advantages of LDLCM in terms of optimality and computational efficiency, providing a valuable addition to the toolkit for solving transportation problems.
